User Experience Designer Reviews

What is it like working as a User Experience Designer?

October 2017
User Experience Designer in KENYA:
Pros: There are lots of unchartered territories in the country when it comes to the design discipline. This makes it more fun and even harder to explore other subjects of design that very or almost none is practicing. Talent is yet to be unleashed to its full potential. Also as a country, we are moving into the service economy now that we have most of our basic infrastructure need covered - broadband to be precise. Kenya also attracts a lot of investors and talent who'd like to solve global challenges due to its location in the region.
Cons: Great local-talent is undervalued in most organisations especially when it comes to base salary compensation and insurance coverage. The cost of living in the major city is way too high especially if you earn what companies dictate and not the market value. There's political tension throughout the country which in turn hurts the economy.
