Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Reviews

What is it like working as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)?

October 2016
Avoid Burnout.
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT):
Pace yourself. Burnout is common in our field. Always remember why you chose this field.
August 2016
That Respiratory involved more work with critical care.
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT):
It is a exciting career, you will be able to practice all that you are trained to do. I advise starting with a learning hospital so you get the benefit of all the critical training that is designed for a register respiratory therapist. Once you have worked in a teaching hospital and trained in all ICU's and the ER. Many hospital will be looking to hire you because of your extensive training and back ground. Patient care is a very rewarding career choice. Your training skills I am finding roll over into other job opportunities such as cardiovascular respiratory care, Sleep study labs, etc.
May 2016
Great for patient care but little room for advancement.
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT):
Currently not a lot of room for advancement. Received my associates, when back for bachelors degree and now working on my MBA to help further my career. Be prepared for long hours up on your feet and taking care of the sick and dying. The bonds made with generations of people can be worth it.
