Advice.
Registered Nurse (RN):
School does not really prepare you for actual nursing. You'll be tested until you prove yourself. Stay strong! It's not you. It's your initiation into the workplace. Learn, ask, help, read and seek knowledge continuously! Find your niche and work towards learning everything you can about that specialty. Whether it be med/surg, telemetry, ER, ICU, pediatrics, etc., specialty nurses are what employees are looking for.

Registered Nurse (RN):
Get experience in various fields. Get masters degree. Start out in med surg for experience. Don't go on to a no degree without 5 yes minimum general nursing.

A Day in The Job Of An RN.
Registered Nurse (RN):
Pros: I love the opportunity to apply critical assessments skills in a fast paced environment. My coworkers make for a fun work environment which stimulates growth in knowledge and understanding.
Cons: Working weekends and holidays can be very tiring as well as having to use payed-time-off for any holidays that I do get off.
July 2014
Treat others as you would like to be treated.
Registered Nurse (RN):
Prioritize,,, be polite, kind & professional, as everyone has some kind of stress going on. Use your filter...say little, listen more. Also, take what you need (advice-wise) and leave the rest. Remember also that not everyone who gives you grief is your enemy, nor are those who are "helping you" always your friends. Remember there is lots of estrogen in this field and women can sometimes resort to childish, nasty behaviors reminiscent of high school cliques.
