Publix Super Markets Inc Reviews

What is it like working at Publix Super Markets Inc?

High expectations with no recources.
Cake Decorator in Mount Juliet:
Pros: Decorating custom cakes. Decent pay.
Cons: Very stressful. Too much micromanagement. High expectations and demands from coorporate with no tools given to meet their expectations. Managers are too focused on numbers and not focused enough on what is happening infront of them. Associates are regularly scheduled to work more than 5 days in a row, but are not paid overtime because the days are split between pay periods. Managers will tell associates that the company "frowns upon discussion of salary with other employees" despite the law.
Lots of learning at first but very rewarding and always doing something.
Customer Service Team Leader in Jacksonville:
Pros: The genuine appreciation shown to all deserving associates and the stock
Cons: Most of the positions at a store are entry level and have to manage a lot of younger less professional and less eager-to-work people
Stressful, but you can make it fun for the customers.
Supermarket Department Manager, Dairy & Frozen Foods in West Palm Beach:
Pros: I am constantly busy.
Cons: Lack of communication between Managers/Employees and too many 'Chiefs' and never enough 'indians'.
Busy, Friendly Customers, Great Coworkers.
Produce Clerk (Grocery) in Tavares:
Pros: The people I work with
Cons: As a part time employee, sometimes I don't enough hours
Sucks.
Deli Clerk in Lawrenceville:
Pros: I can make my own hours, and we are always short staffed so I always get hours.
Cons: We are always short staffed, the managers are awful.
Decent job, fair pay.
Deli Clerk in Weeki Wachee:
Pros: Provides ample room to grow and develop new skills needed to pursue a higher position in the field.
Cons: I often feel impatient with the pace in which I am moving in regards to my position, and my want and need for further development in my field is often unnoticed.
Hard, busy not very rewarding.
