Volunteer Coordinator Reviews

What is it like working as a Volunteer Coordinator?

August 2020
Volunteers Greatly Valued in Boulder County Government.
Volunteer Coordinator in Boulder:
Pros: I have a dynamic and fruitful relationship with many units in my department. I'm able to work cross-departments to get things done and implement innovations and creative ideas to lower costs and help more people through volunteer use in government.
Cons: I was hired at a limited range for salary which was lower than it should have been. Since then my range has been adjusted for national norms supposedly, but I'm still not making what I should be after 13 years in the profession, IMHO.
April 2020
Rewarding.
Volunteer Coordinator in West Branch:
Pros: I love the volunteers I work with. I like matching them with patients and being able to provide a special something at the end of life. A conversation, a song, holding a hand, just being there for someone.
Cons: It's a challenge to find people to volunteer.
March 2020
Positive, supportive, fun.
Volunteer Coordinator in Abbotsford:

It is very rewarding but also a very big challenge.
Volunteer Coordinator in Tyler:
Pros: All the new relationships and friendships I've made, and the awareness of nonprofit agencies work, and why they are vital in the community
Cons: There are a few obvious management decisions that continue to be avoided. Positive changes would increase moral and productivity 100%.
June 2019
You pick your own hours and it’s flexible on what is required. You get paid very little.
Volunteer Coordinator in Boise:
Pros: I like that I get to help those around us.
Cons: The pay is too low
