Test Engineer in Santa Rosa:
Pros: The people are nice(in general), the place is nearby Manila, so I can commute and laze about on the weekends.
Cons: The company I work for right now is jack crap. They offer (in paper) benefits. But what they don't tell you is that they charge you for almost everything you want. Even lunch on the canteen is paid from your own pocket. They charge the shuttle service to you, health benefits(if you opted for it) to you and by the way, they contribute like (php129=like $2.50) from their side to your selected health benefit package. The rest is, you guessed it, from your own paycheck. Adding to the list, the owner(chairman) and his kid(manages a company bought) are insane cheapskates. To top it all off, they hire fresh graduates as "cadet engineers" and because of the "training" they'll give, they'll lock you in a contract for two years. Saving their human resources department effort to look for people for the said duration. The "training" is crap. No training involved. Straight, no-holds-barred work.
