One-Stop Shop-Job.
Retail Store Assistant Manager:
Pros: Access to hundreds of different people in the organic retail industry, industry trends/news/interests. Doing a little bit of every single aspect of running a small store - cleaning, stocking, sales, cashiering, social media, paperwork, bookkeeping, etc.
Cons: Lack of organization and clarified job descriptions from employers. About 60+ hours per week and no end to work in sight. Like hitting a wall.

Store Quality.
Retail Store Assistant Manager:
Pros: Having time outside of store hours to do floor sets.
Cons: Limitations to staff. Managers have to give certain jobs to sales associates because they have to be out front at all times unless another manger is there, even with an exceptional employee who can sell better. Lack of time to do anything useful.

A day at Pink Chandelier.
Retail Store Assistant Manager:
Pros: As the assistant manager at a small boutique I have a lot of responsibility but am also able to pursue a career in my field. Upon graduating I have been able to run fashion shows, spread my creativity and help customers find new clothing. I really like the behind the scenes aspect of the job as I am able to dip my toes into a lot. I enjoy running social media, designing posters, promotions, building window displays and executing fashion/ trunk sale shows for Pink Chandelier. We have a great team and friendly environment - I have a lot of fun at work!
Cons: I feel I am taken for granted at times. I do a lot of work that isn't in my job description and am not given credit for. A lot of this work would be additional costs for my boss and I have not been given a proper benefits package or raise of any sort. I also was promised buying experience which is why I took the job to begin with and have not been given any of this experience in the last year and a half.
