What is it like working as a Restaurant Host/Hostess?

November 2020
Its great working as a host cause I communicate directly with the customers that come into the store and I get to know how their experience was like.
Restaurant Host/Hostess in Johannesburg:
Pros: Being able to chat with the customers and letting them know about our specials qe have on the app and educating them about our charity organizations

Restaurant Host/Hostess in Providence:

Cons: Working at night, the hours can be long since I work until 10pm on my own on the weekends. Every other day - weekday I work until 8pm.
April 2020
Great company, management could use work.
Restaurant Host/Hostess in Fort Lauderdale:
Pros: The company is great, the food is amazing and the relationships with our guest are the best! Worth the bit of stress you would get at any other restaurant job.
Cons: Management should be more involved on the floor taking with our guest and more involved with their staff to ensure a smooth shift. Higher standards should be set for a reputable company such as Darden.
March 2020
I hate it.
Restaurant Host/Hostess in Elkhart:
Pros: Every customer is different, except for our regulars. I can be in different areas of the workplace every day.
Cons: If you dont know how to do something and ask for help, managers make you feel dumb for not knowing and when they show you, they wont explain anything very well.
January 2020
My Experience at P.F. Changs.
Restaurant Host/Hostess in San Diego:
Pros: I love that this place and company is on that people enjoy coming to
Cons: I dont think our location of the company has a great grasp on handling high volumes of people, need to actually practice the three month move up process
January 2020
This job is horrible.
Restaurant Host/Hostess in Coon Rapids:
Pros: The only good thing at work are SOME customers
Cons: How staff doesn’t tip at all and management is very negative and rude
