Long Hours.
Registered Nurse (RN):
Pros: Independence, interesting, challenging at times.
Cons: Long hours, under staffed and no incentive or bonus for overtime. 16-20 hr days with short staffing I think deserve critical staffing bonus.

Registered Nurse (RN):
Pros: Layout of unit is wonderful - for the most part, everything is in the room.
Cons: Poor pay, no raises, focus on money and productivity, short-staffed, low morale.
March 2014
Registered Nurse (RN):
Pros: Great staff, very supportive culture on unit.
Cons: Terrible staffing ratios, high staff turnover.

Quality Nursing Is Not An 8 Hour Shift.
Registered Nurse (RN):
Be wary of patient loads, as many times you can be stretched too thin and as a result, safe and quality care can become compromised.
