What is it like working as a Registered Nurse (RN), Critical Care?
January 2020
Registered Nurse (RN), Critical Care in Chattanooga:
Board members continuously receive bonuses and pay raises, but nursing staff remain short staffed and haven’t received a pay raise in 4 years.
They canceled our means to receive pay raises via the merit system.

The workers are just there to ensure the company gets paid. You are not supported at work. Even if the employer treats you like dirt there is no support.
Registered Nurse (RN), Critical Care in Atlanta:
Pros: I am happy I got the opportunity to migrate but did not know the cost I had to pay. The salary does not support your cost of living. After you pay rent then you are in trouble.
Cons: Poor salary
Lack of support
Poor communication
You are told to do things NOW with no consideration as to what your workload is like
December 2019
Torture.
Registered Nurse (RN), Critical Care in Chattanooga:
Pros: The Nurse
Cons: Lack of work support, overworked, dangerous for people who work there, hostile work environment, dictator style management.
December 2019
Registered Nurse (RN), Critical Care in Teaneck:
Love the people that I work with and the doctors are excellent at what they do. And the work. The pay for call is very bad. Half of other hospitals in the area. We are not compensated for our certification renewal.
December 2019
Growth for HonorHealth leads to a decidedly corporate feel.
Registered Nurse (RN), Critical Care in Scottsdale:
Pros: The people I directly work with
Cons: Increasingly corporate feel, almost nonexistent presence of upper management/executives, decreasing benefits
December 2019
Growth for HonorHealth leads to more corporate atmosphere.
Registered Nurse (RN), Critical Care in Scottsdale:
Pros: The people I work with directly
Cons: The increasingly corporate feel, minimal presence of upper management, poor customer service from HR
December 2019
RN- Extremely under paid, under staffed and over worked. No breaks in our 12-13 hr work day. Possibly a 20-30 minute lunch break if not beeped. 1-4 or 5 ratio. Not Good!
Registered Nurse (RN), Critical Care in Austin:
Pros: Love the city. Have realized Austin does not pay their nurses a fair wage by any stretch. $26-27/hr vs $35-50/hr in most other states. Rent is as high as LA, Property tax is double California at 2-2.6% of sales price. This equates to way more than the savings for no state income tax.
Cons: See above
