Don't expect that the college you will work at will be like the one that you attended. Not only were you not aware of everything that your Professors did or were responsible for, all schools have different levels of pay, infrastructure support, graduate assistantships to help you in class, grading or research, comeradery, teaching/research/committe balance, etc.
