What is it like working as an Interpreter or Translator?

It's a good job but there are a lot of violations in not prividing interpreters and depend on unqualified people to interpret for free.

Being of service to the community.

January 2022
Good, convenient enough without crowds of the bigger cities.

October 2020
I am their only Interpreter.
Interpreter or Translator in West Monroe:
Pros: I love seeing the difference I can make in the students' learning experience. The hope and relief that fills their eyes when they realize that someone, an adult, can understand them and communicate to them what they don't yet understand in English. I am also glad to aid teachers in the daunting task of teaching non-English-speaking students.
Cons: I am the only Interpreter they have hired so far so I am learning the ropes with little to no guidance. I do not like being alone in this venture. I believe there should be a board for foreign language accommodations to cover topics like academic evaluations and special resources for incoming ESL students.
March 2020
Rewarding.
Interpreter or Translator in New York:

Cons: Employees are not properly compensated for their work.
October 2019
I am very happy.
