Chemical Engineer Reviews
What is it like working as a Chemical Engineer?
February 2021
The Giant needs to reinvent itself or be eliminated.
Chemical Engineer in Singapore:
Pros: In good times, there are a lot of resources available in Exxonmobil to learn.
There are many different plants with their own unique production line ups and challenges.
There are many roles worth exploring, provided your supervisor is actively looking to nurture you.
Cons: Too much bureaucracy.
Poor management communication with the ground.
Management tends to keep sensitive information to themselves.
A lot of fixation on internal ranking leading to selfish co-workers who would rather hoard information.
Ranking system is not transparent - not effective as the system is very subjective.
There is alot of old-fashioned thinking, preventing young and new ideas from being expressed.
Overall, the company needs to reinvent itself fast.
