Pros: Working with students.
Cons: The ever increasing workload with no increase in salary and impossible deadlines. Lack of full-time assistant.

Pros: Work from home often. Teach on campus two days/week about interesting things. Get to go on research and conference trips of my own choosing and design.
Cons: The commute is not great. I would like to be paid more. I would like to teach less and research more.

Cons: Too much politics and buttering. Does not value a person's talent. In profession people satisfy their personal grudges.

My advice to students is to find out a name of a single person who has become famous by studying only. It is really scant. Better bunk classes and utilize time in better matter. Only a month before finals read 20 hours a day and pass the exam.
