Spectrum Reviews
What is it like working at Spectrum?
Associate Software Engineer in Charlotte:
Pros: I love the open communication between management and direct employees and the opportunities to learn new things and atke on more responsibility. At least within my team, my manager trusts us to complete our work efficiently and on time, and is always open to discussing new ideas on how to improve workflow. They are also very supportive of professional development.
Cons: The thing I like least about my job is the lack of flexibility for remote work. I work best in an inviting environment where I feel like my work matters, and I can be individualistic in my workflow. Individual workers in the corporate office are assigned closed off cubicles, and are required to conform to the companies corporate dress code. In addition to this, the office is always kept cold, and the interior is grey-washed and everything is uniform. It makes it really uninspiring to work in the office. As a knowledge worker, I understand why some might like the uniformity of an office, however, I am most productive in a remote work environment. It saves me commute time and offers a better work-life balance for me.
I feel it depends on the department you work in and you have to ask for top dollar or you will not get a decent raise ever.
Registered Nurse Care Manager in Grand Rapids:
Pros: Working for home.
Cons: New management and how meetings keep getting shortened to save time so management can have meetings on changes being made and then not communicate it to us. The team.
Stress Test.
Cable Technician in Blue Springs:
Pros: My customers keep me going. Were the work not so worthwhile, I'd have left a long time ago.
Cons: Management. They micromanage to the extreme now. They tend to lump their failures on technicians more so than ever now.
Management in Kansas City has formed a habit of blaming technicians for everything that goes wrong.
The Kansas City Spectrum operations/management staff is dysfunctional by definition and has only gotten worse over time.
Senior UX Designer in Denver:
Overall a good company, but lack of flexibility with work arrangements. Even with accommodation requests from doctors regarding the need to work remotely, was not accepted. They had an all hands on deck policy regardless.
They call you an assistant manager but you run the entire store without any support.
Retail Store Manager in Los Angeles:
Pros: Benefits
Cons: Difficulty terminating employees that don’t work well and bring down morale at the store but it’s easy for upper management to terminate store managers and assistant managers who are held accountable for the performance of the employees who don’t perform or show up but can’t get terminated easily
Great pay and culture.
Customer Service Supervisor in Woodstock:
Pros: The people and management are helpful and knowledgeable.
Cons: Lack of upward mobility at local level
Mentally and emotionally taxing.
Customer Service Representative (CSR) in Louisville:
Pros: Coworkers and pay
Cons: Unable to follow through on promised raises across many years, feels stagnant.
