HCA, Inc. Reviews
What is it like working at HCA, Inc.?
It's a joke, but not actually funny.
Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist in Sanford:
Pros: My coworkers are like family, most staff and physician's treat me with respect.
Cons: Department manager and director.
Major growth with moderate growing pains.
Development Operations (DevOps) Engineer in Franklin:
Pros: There are tons of opportunities for growth and development, and the company is usually good at helping you make lateral moves if you want.
Cons: Compensation lags behind the market, and once you're in, high-volume, high-quality work doesn't change that: default company policy is that you can never earn more than 15% over you current rate of pay, and that can only happen if you get a promotion, which can be a complicated process. The growth in staffing and compensation does not scale with the growth in with demand, and schisms in leadership can make priorities shift on a near -daily basis.
Maximum growth, moderate growing pains.
Consulting Systems Engineer in Nashville:
Pros: Lots of interesting people and plenty of opportunity to work on interesting problems and projects
Cons: The compensation tends to lag behind the rest of the market. Once you're in, you can't get more than a 15% increase annually, and that's only if you get a promotion (otherwise it calls at 5%). Benefits aren't terrible, but aren't great. The demands for work output can be grueling, and priorities can shift quickly enough to cause whiplash.
Amazing company that allows you to continue learning everyday.
Project Manager, (Unspecified Type / General) in Nashville:
Pros: I love the people, the culture, and the purpose.
Cons: I wish pay was structured differently. There needs to be ways to compensate people based on the value they provide. Give stock to employees…
Frustrating.
Charge Nurse (RN) in Houston:
Pros: The Doctors and staff I work with
Cons: There’s no say in how it is run. Employer has a,”this is the way it’s going to be. It won’t change.”
The culture is what keeps me there.
Staff Nurse in Houston:
Pros: The people I work with
Cons: Pay, don’t feel heard, staffing issues, no retention bonus
Short staffed, high turnover.
Staff Nurse in Denver:
Pros: Getting time off when I want it.
Cons: Hourly wage is low, merit increases are less than 2% each year.
