Genesis HealthCare Reviews

What is it like working at Genesis HealthCare?

Just another number.
Charge Nurse (RN) in Mystic:
Pros: My patients
Cons: Upper management plays favorites. They do not really care about there employees lives or well being
Challenging.
Infection Control Practitioner (ICP) in Billerica:
Pros: My co-workers
Cons: Lack of resources and supplies needed to complete job to meet minimum standards. Lack of administrator support. Treat the staff poorly.
Mixed Bag.
Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in Frankfort:
Pros: Genesis HealthCare has been great about getting me enough hours so that I have consistency and money I can depend on. I get floated to other buildings, but as long as I get my hours, I am okay with that.
Cons: My direct manager is not respectful to employees. Employees get called out in front of other employees in a way that is embarrassing and reminiscent of how teachers talk to middle school aged children. Working in a SNF/Long term care facility is always somewhat stressful, but this therapy department adds a new level of stress that I have not experienced at other SNFs.
Unappreciated of their workers, and no communication with management.
Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) in Phoenix:
Pros: Alot of shifts to work if people want overtime
Cons: No communication with their employees
Human Resources (HR) Manager in Cartersville:
Pros: Working with the employees
Cons: Lack of employee training and communication
Lesser of the Evils.
Registered Nurse (RN):
Pros: Rate of pay.
Cons: Stressful. Staffed based on pt census and not acuity of care. Can easily get burned out because of the understaffing. Unorganized. Sloppy.
Very busy.
Physical Therapy Assistant:
Pros: Autonomy, helpful coworkers, clean facility.
Cons: High expectations for productivity, and the insurance games, both of which often decrease the amount of time a patient actually receives for one-on-one care.
