Department of Veteran's Affairs Reviews
What is it like working at Department of Veteran's Affairs?
Surgical Technician in Salt Lake City:
Fantastic benefits, such as 5 weeks vacation and almost 3 weeks sick leave. Innovation is encouraged. Most of the workers are some of the best I have ever worked with. The only negative is dealing with government beurocracy.
Podiatrist in Apex:
One word: corrupt and full of lies. Administration will never respect their veterans or employees. Suggestions are never instituted. All employee survey is very difficult to get employees to partake in because employees know the results are useless and mean nothing to bring employees up. Administration doesn’t promote from within, you have to leave and then come back to the DURVAMC for promotion. Don’t waste your time applying here.
Working with the VA is sometimes not so great. When you have clicks and favorites.

Pros: The Veterans
Cons: Running 2 clinics
Biomedical Engineering Technician in Cleveland:
Overall a good place to work for. Rewarding experience. I make a difference every day. Best thing good fellow employees. Worst thing Bureaucracy keeps it from being a great job. Management isn’t the best unwillingness to make changes. Service that I support treats me great.
Great job, Good pay.
Administrative Officer in Tampa:
Pros: Great people to work with and taking care of our nations veterans.
Cons: Too much politics
OI & T Compliance.

Different at every location; you'll have to figure it out on your own.
