Allied Universal Corporation Reviews

What is it like working at Allied Universal Corporation?

Security Officer in Tampa:
Pros: I like most that I'm not micromanaged at my site. I can't stand when someone is hovering over you wanting to know why you haven't completed this or that, or telling you how to do your job when you know full well what you're doing.
Cons: Their response to my questions when I need something is *very* frustrating. But I finally have a new manager that already seems better at that than the rest I've had here.
Frustrating as hell. There is a high turnover. I'm always training and I don't get paid to train. Officers under me are stubborn and lazy. That management is Incompetent, sexist, and lazy. I love my post, but I hate the company. I could write a book.
Security Supervisor in Dallas:
Pros: I hate Allied. I love my post.
Cons: I love my post, but Allied cares about the quantity of officers not the quality. It's terrible.
Unfair.
Chief of Security in Marion:
Pros: The people who work for me, my supervisory team, and the client whose property we protect.
Cons: Lack of communication from the top to the management level at the sites we operate at. There is no full understanding of those in top level management what site leads, security chief's and fire chiefs actually do.
Incompetent leadership in the inner city -my location is different- high end clientelejob is.
Security Officer in Alpharetta:
Pros: Opportunity to make a contribution in my specific location.
Cons: Local corperate administration enforces limitations; referrals for employment limited to applicants who are inter city residents. Cannot recruit from the area in which the services are actually provided. Long travel distances for these applicants is often not in reach for recruited and employed staff. This makes for high rates of turn over, often not committed to the sight assigned, limited motivation to complete basic requirements and procedural duties.
Is a very good company.
Security Manager in Wellesley:
Pros: There is very little politics involved, your hard work dictates your level of success at that location
Cons: Not all managers are given a fair chance for promotion
Confusing and frustrating.
Health Screener in Austin:
Pros: Nothing
Cons: The lack of communication, leadership letting you know that you are expendable. No growth, no seniority structure within the sections, training is a mess, and no way to verify policies.
Varied opportunities.
Security Guard in Austin:
Pros: I work with wonderful people at a nice post, location and the client's employees are friendly.
Cons: They don't seem to value their employees. I was laid off and had a recommendation from my past manager. Yet, because I refused 3 positions that were offered to me the next week because of lower pay and hours I couldn't work. It was considered job abandonment. It took a long time jumping through hoops to be able to go back to work for them
