CenturyLink Reviews
What is it like working at CenturyLink?
Marketing Manager in Minneapolis:
Best manager ever! Love the company culture and values. Pay is 15 to 18% below other sized companies, but the benefits are wonderful. The division I am in focuses on the strengths of people and positions them for success.
Most stressful job I've ever had.
Customer Service Sales Associate in Knoxville:
Pros: Daytime schedule because of seniority
Cons: The stress levels and pressure
Jeff Story has ruined Centurylink/Lumen.
Technical Support Specialist in Orlando:
Pros: I love helping people and solving challenging problems.
Cons: Jeff Story doesn't care about the employees or customers. He only cares about receiving his giant bonuses. We used to get yearly raises. There were many opportunities for promotion. I was promoted 4 times in 3 years due to my outstanding work ethic, knowledge, and skills. I haven't been promoted or received a raise since Jeff Story took over the company 2 years ago. He cut all our bonuses. Twice yearly, we get a $5 gift card to Burger King when we are recognized for our outstanding work. Jeff Story has decided that our consumer business is weighing down the company. He does everything he can to make our customers cancel. Every day, all day we have 1 to 2 hour hold times. I have to tell customers that it will be weeks even a month before I can get a technician out to fix their service. Some customers don't have another option for their ISP. To tell a sick person I can't fix their phone for weeks or a person who's job depends on internet, there's nothing I can do is incredibly painful and stressful. I'm given 30 seconds between calls to finish up accounting notes and process the pain before the next call comes in. Lumen doesn't care. I feel guilty about working at this company. They don't deserve me. Still I do my best to give my customers the best of who I am. I used to love working for this company. I used to feel valued. I was given the tools to take care of my customers in a timely manner. Jeff Story is a problem and it won't get better until the board gets rid of him.
It is a good environment with plenty of opportunity to learn new skills.
Cloud Solutions Architect in Littleton:
Pros: The people I work with are great.
Cons: Pay
It's Work.
Automation Engineer in Broomfield:
Pros: The fact that a lot of things are left for me to decide and make wise decisions. I'm also given a pretty fair amount of room for error. Test, execute, decide.
Cons: We are in the middle of a a huge transformation effort so everything is kind of all over the place.
Decent.
Automation Engineer in Broomfield:
Pros: Have to be creative to come up with solutions.
Cons: The general friction between everyone creates a lot of unneeded stress and complication.
Enjoy my job and relaxed working environment.
Network Engineer in West Monroe:

Cons: Not payed as much as national mean
