Retail Assistant Manager Reviews

What is it like working as a Retail Assistant Manager?

August 2015
Great title wrong place.
Retail Assistant Manager:
Pros: It's a great learning experience and helps prepare for later challenges.
Cons: How management where I work treats you like dirt and is willing to shut a store down just to fire the staff and re hire a whole new one with very minimal reasoning.
December 2014
Willing to work.
Retail Assistant Manager:
The demands of an assistant manager in retail are very demanding and the hours can be long. The need to be flexible is a must.
July 2014
I Love Being Able To Help People.
Retail Assistant Manager:
Pros: I love working with people. On a daily basis I am able to meet customers who have a need and I have the chance to help them fill that need, whether it is simply finding an item in the store or as complex as helping them through the return/ replacement procedures of a manufacturer's claim policy. The same goes for my associates. I get to be friend, mentor, confidant, parent and coach to a number of great people.
Cons: The hours are long. I typically work 60 hours a week and I feel that when I leave there is too much work undone. We struggle to hire enough associates at all levels including management.

Stressful And Management Not Good.
Retail Assistant Manager:
Pros: The Customers and being able to interact with them and get to know them on a daily basis.
Cons: Management was not good, no interest in her employees, no customer service skills at all. Got a lot of complaints about her being rude from a lot of customers.
March 2014
