Office Manager Reviews
What is it like working as an Office Manager?
May 2015
Office Manager:
Pros: I love the work environment and the opportunities to grow in the company. My coworkers are wonderful, and my boss is very understanding about doctor appointments and leave. I love learning and being cross trained. Because the owner is my brother-in-law, I am sometimes paid to babysit my niece.
Cons: Since this is a small business, I am cross trained to do bookkeeping, payroll, tax preparation, and am the front desk receptionist on top of my normal office manager tasks. I help my co-workers, but I rarely get the help I need during busy season to complete the extra work. I do not feel appreciated.

All in the attitude.
Office Manager:
Take a course in beginning supervision/management and always stay positive. If you can keep your office feeling motivated and positive you can achieve anything. This is easier said than done when you are supervising real people with real personalities.

I was given a glowing review.
Office Manager:
Pros: I like the people I work with and supervise. It is a fulfilling job and an OK atmosphere most of the time.
Cons: I don't like the communication with the owners. They do not seem to actually appreciate me. I feel as though I'm just a name on paper and do not have supervisory roles. I'm not actually able to perform as a Office Manager should. It is a very stressful position that I'm in and I feel I have way more responsibilities than what I'm getting paid for.

Office Management in a Nutshell.
Office Manager:
Pros: Working with people, keeping busy while multitasking and taking on projects to help enhance the office needs as much as possible.
Cons: Cleaning up after people, the fact that it is a "thankless" job being in a support role not getting much credit when and where it needs to be known.

Office Manager:
Pros: The challenge. Something different every day.
Cons: Employees grumbling about one another. Those senior to me not getting the job done.
