General Manager, Restaurant Reviews

What is it like working as a General Manager, Restaurant?

July 2019
General Manager, Restaurant in Cape Town:
Pros: Review
Cons: Moved to other stores with no notice or compensation. Forced to take on over time. Long hours. Broken equipment.
June 2019
Fun atmosphere, great company, loyal employer.
General Manager, Restaurant in Chicago:
Pros: No one day is different, neither is it the same
Cons: Late nights
May 2019
Too much for one person.
General Manager, Restaurant in Anaheim:
Pros: I like being in charge of my own store.
Cons: Shoestring labor budget. You're alone most days with just one driver who is often on the road. You're cooking, getting orders together, answering the phones, helping people up front, doing prep, and then on top of all that you're expected to handle all the admin at the same time. Keeping everything up to standard, ordering, inventory, hiring, training, sales. There are no assistant managers. Shift managers are only paid one dollar above minimum wage so there is no reason to take the extra work load for one measly dollar. It's ridiculous and extremely stressful. Turnover is insane.
May 2019
Good fun, but challenging.
General Manager, Restaurant in Newcastle-upon-Tyne:
Pros: Seeing positive developments as a direct result of my actions
Cons: Tendency for occasional micro management, poor communication with upper management, false promises
May 2019
Growing city’s customer’s hunger satisfied.
General Manager, Restaurant in Florence:
Pros: Very diverse customer base.. from farmer to business people. Keeps the job exciting.
Cons: The hiring process is challenging. There is a definite lack of quality candidates.
April 2019
Low pay, long hours, not many benefits.
General Manager, Restaurant in Carrollton:
Pros: Teaching others new skills sets and soft skills
Cons: Does not offer 401k, retirement plan, doesn't take care of their people only "guest focued"
April 2019
Be the example and make sure that every experience matter and is positive and remembered.
General Manager, Restaurant in Tucson:
Pros: Meeting new people
Cons: It is difficult to compete with large chains and their advertising budgets. I want everyone to know about Mcsports Llc
