Try to find out how much of your work will consist of non-law or legal duties such as human resources and general office administration (answering phones, making photocopies, distributing mail). Try to determine if you will areas of independent, specialized responsibility, or if your duties will primarily be that of "assistant."

Adaptability and Re-Prioritizing are Key.
Corporate Paralegal:
Be patient. Learn the different habits and traits of the lawyers you support especially the corporate lawyers as well as their assistants.
Be able to switch tasks and gears on a moment's notice and be prepared to follow-up often in order to finalize tasks.
Be proactive and try to fix any past errors spotted however trivial they may seem as they could lend to bigger problems down the line.
Maintain a positive attitude and outlook and make time for colleague questions.
