With the web and its technologies moving so quickly, its very important that you are the type of person who takes it upon themselves to learn. This could mean learning techniques, or new frameworks. Sometimes, you may be required to learn a whole new programming/template language! You have to have the desire to know as much as you can about the techniques, languages, and platforms you are employed to use.

Research the type of development platforms being used and if the department you are going to work for is keeping up with the latest technology and is encouraging learning new technology and services. Also research department rules about work such as working remotely and or flex hours as well as work environment is it relaxed with a good work life balance or is it restrictive and stressful with long work hours and harsh deadlines that are unreasonable.
