Technical Sales Representative (TSR) Reviews
What is it like working as a Technical Sales Representative (TSR)?
July 2017
Hard to find a Good Paying Job.
Technical Sales Representative (TSR) in Hays:
Pros: I like the area, as in it's easy enough to find a job. The people I work with are usually nice and while some of the management is inexperienced, they're usually fairly nice. My job is flexible in hours, you make your own schedule Monday through Thursday and then management schedules your weekends so they can have enough coverage, but should you have something and you cannot work a certain day they work with you quite well. There are plenty of good food places in Hays, and there is a local college. There's also a great arts community, with four annual art gallery walks a year. Cost of living is typical and can be affordable depending on where you live in town, nicer places are going to cost more a month to rent, etc. Traffic is not bad as the town is not that big.
Cons: Nobody pays much in Hays. I was making more as a retail associate at a Dollar General in Nebraska because their minimum wage is higher. My job barely pays above minimum wage and from what I've heard there is no chance for advancement and no chance for raises unless you get licensed for different insurance policies which I believe you still have to pay for. I literally am paid 8.50 an hour which does very little to pay my bills in the long run. Drivers in Hays suck, as in you will almost get in an accident all the time. Police are also just itching to pull you over, so be on your best behavior all the time! Bottom line? It's a college town that thinks it can get away with paying all employees the bare minimum. Get out if you can.
