What Are You Getting Into?
Surgical Technologist:
Be aware that the work you do isn't always compensated equivocally monetarily. You will never be paid what you deserve to be paid in this job if you are a hard worker with a strong work ethic. Then why do the job? You ask. Because it is not about us. It is always about the patient. Always should be. You will silently save lives, assist and help the surgeons, work with and for the nurses who run the room by setting up room and assisting with all needs and aspects of each patients care, you will also be required to know all services and their procedures and every different doctors preferences in each of the hundreds of different procedures. Many techs will experience having to sit perfectly still for four hours in the same position or you may have to stand in one spot for eleven hours with only a thirty minute break. Not to mention call cases. All in all it takes someone special to do this job. Always remember INTEGRITY FIRST, be proactive about your education level, always stay calm!

Surgical Field.
Surgical Technologist:
This has got to be one of the best places to work in the surgical or medical arena, however we are under paid for our responsibilities and accountable knowledge and practices. It's environment unlike others unique unto itself and set apart from other departments, it's been an educational journey, but one must move vertically to find compensation.
