Support Technician, Information Technology (IT):
Pros: There is fantastic variety and no two days are the same. You get a real sense of accomplishment resolving a multitude of problems, and all techies should love showing off their knowledge of systems and software. The feeling of being valued is always a bonus, knowing your role directly affects the running of the business. One main perk of the job is the fulfilment you feel upon overcoming a trying issue.
Cons: Vague support requests and impatience with resolution times is an unavoidable annoyance. Some tasks can become repetitive, and being interrupted when you are handling a major support request for a small minor issue can become tedious.
