Strategy Consultant Reviews
What is it like working as a Strategy Consultant?
April 2020
Strategy Consultant:
Sexist upper management, frat culture, poor pay, ASOP and 401(k) take 3 YEARS to vest (otherwise you get nothing). Parties are frequent and pretty good in the SF office, poor integration of acquisitions into company. You had better hope your People Manager likes you otherwise be prepared for a miserable experience.

Single most competitive health insurance market in the US.
Strategy Consultant in Pittsburgh:
Pros: Many high paying job opportunities, and for the most part people and companies move relatively quickly.
If you're a single (hetero) man who is looking to focus his career, there is no better place.
Professional Sports are lit and people are very passionate about their sports.
Cons: City is the single most inconvenient city to get around in the US. Roads are confusing and aging infrastructure is a real problem. The downtown area is basically nothing but commuter locale. Some great restaurants but it's slow and expensive.
Rains all the time.
Downtown is exceptionally noisy for the size and # of people. Not uncommon to hear jake-braking and trains into the wee hrs of the night.
Zoning laws are lax. Not unusual to have a "gentleman's" club right next door to a school.
Geography is very hilly and winters are tough to get around.
Mix the lack of amenities with funky geography and terrible weather earns Pittsburgh.

August 2016

Cons: Long client engagements for my particular role, not the company norm.
