Learn as much as you can about client-side engineering as quickly as possible. Weather it's mobile app platforms (iOS, Android) or web/responsive design (Angular, React+Redux), get neck-deep as quickly as possible.
The closer you can get to "engineering" a digital product, the better.
It means you can design better systems (engineers love you), and you can provide tangible contributions to small teams (your git history looks amazing).
