Senior Analyst, Compensation in Grand Rapids:
Pros: Proximity to Lake Michigan, bike and walking trail network, quick access to "Up North", multiple up and coming neighborhoods, diverse business mix, "Beer City USA", family-friendly, Annual Art Festival, Art Prize, community spirit, the Grand River. Our mayoral leadership.
Cons: Right now, the commute, GR also has a very poor public transportation system. Multiple suburbs and City of GR do not always play nice together. We also need to be more inclusive of all ethnicities and socio-economic differences. Right now (2017), housing costs are high due to economic growth and new jobs/ high demand and low housing supply.
