Always Use The Golden Rule.
Security Officer:
Pros: I really like working in a team environment among other officers, I also enjoy meeting new people and learning new information.
Cons: Each day is different so you never know what to expect. Some days can be long and boring, while other days can go by really quickly.

Always Use The Golden Rule.
Security Officer:
Pros: I like working as a team among other officers, meeting new people, learning new skills and the pay isn't bad.
Cons: Each day is different so some days can be long and boring while other days can go by fairly quick. Depending on where you'll be working you may have to stand for long periods of time. However, if you find yourself in a position where you may have sit for extended periods of time, you might end up fighting sleep.

Helpful.

Pros: Every body has a chance to do the job and we are like a family.
Cons: Unable to further my study due to straight day shift.

Not For The Timid.
Security Officer:
This job is not for the timid. We frequently deal with combative patients. Many of these patients are infected with Hep C or HIV. These patients will not hesitate to spit, throw things or strike. You have to be mentally prepared for these attacks and little or no support from medical staff. You will frequently have medical staff try to pawn their job off on you and then try to report you for “not doing your job” when you don’t cooperate. Please understand that this is extremely common and shows no sign of changing.

Mature Security Officers Required.
Security Officer:
1. We are not the police, don't try to be one. 2. Think before you act. 3. Remember nothing is personal. 4. The client pays the bills, don't shit where you eat. 5. The client is the boss, employees of the client may not be the boss. 6. We work to to live, not the other way round, leave the stress at work. 7. If working as part of a team, be a team member not an individual. 8. If you are the team leader, your team is the priority, they will keep you alive, treat them accordingly. 9. Before embarking on this career, join the Army, Police or similar, under 30 years old with no sharp end experience can give the industry a bad name with use of force breaches and general attitude issues to the public.
May 2014
