Retail Store Assistant Manager Reviews
What is it like working as a Retail Store Assistant Manager?
August 2016
Retail Store Assistant Manager:
Cons: 50+ hours or week, working mostly in evenings.

Assistant Manager.
Retail Store Assistant Manager:
Pros: Positive work environment IF you are lucky enough to be in a store with a decent manager.
Cons: Overworked, understaffed, and the execution of new directives never follows through as planned or at all. Pay for our entry level sales associates is bare minimum regardless if other retail stores are paying 3 to 4 dollars more per hour for half as much expectations. Expect to have half a gillion tasks to complete by last week with 20 gillion more tasks to do each day. It is VERY rare to have enough time to focus on any one task to ensure proper completion. Training of staff and fellow managers is sporadic even though there is a set standard and procedure to develop staff. Reason given from upper management for our low pay is that we pay in a positive work environment. Too bad that a positive work environment does NOT pay the bills!
