Receptionist/Client Care.
Receptionist:
Pros: I like the daily interactions with clients and customers. I like keeping busy and the fast pace the job has to offer. It is rewarding to me when I get everything done and all company issues are taken care of. I like that people are constantly depending on me and that all resolutions go through me. I am responsible for more than just reception. I also work with the Customer Care Dept. Ensuring accounts are set-up, payments are made, customer forms are scanned and emailed among many other duties.
Cons: Work load can be quite hectic. People don't realize how busy and involved a receptionist is. The company literally falls apart when I take time off but it's not until things start going wrong before they realize how important the things that I do. I have too many bosses assigning me jobs where I'm at and they don't realize (or communicate to each other). I am getting jobs from all of them causing an overload of work. I feel under-appreciated and my work gets unnoticed. My direct Manager has fully admitted that he does not know how to evaluate me because he doesn't know what I do or what is expected or what is considered 'working above and beyond'. I give 110% everyday and my duties and responsibilities just keep growing and growing everyday and continues to get unnoticed.
November 2013
Receptionist:
Pros: Relaxing environment and the work isn't very hard to do
Cons: Doesn't look like there is any room for advancement
