Program Manager, Non-Profit Organization:
Pros: I give support to international students who have a hard time adjusting to Malaysia's lifestyle and culture. I get to see amazing feat of tolerance, understanding and adaptability in today's international youths. The volunteers that I have worked with are amazing and AFS as a whole is a big family around the world. I get to learn on how to work with people of different culture even though I never left my country.
Cons: The workload is unbearable as well as the emotional stress that comes with working in counseling matters. There are also volunteers who are not really helpful either and the expectations they have of paid staff is unreasonable.
