Pros: Patient care, and getting to learn about the patients and their lives
Cons: Pay, no hours on scheduled work days and using pto to make up for lost hours to make check sustainable

Patient Care Technician in Indianapolis:
I have worked on a med surg unit at the Indianapolis hospital and it’s been so hard. The unit is understaffed, but there is more people getting hired which is good. The unit is a ton of work for the techs due to high ratios! I have up to 13 patients which absolutely sucks. The unit has a high turnover rate due to lack of money and high ratios.

I won't recommend this place to anybody but the company who owns the hospital Hca healthcare is amazing I still working for a different hospital same company and I love it is all about who you working with the magic word is teamwork.

I love working with the patient, that is what keeps me going but don't I don't feel like they care about employee like before.

Cons: The pay structure is not fair. I have been here for 10 years and I make as less that someone who has been here 6 months.

I enjoy having to wake up at 5am.
Patient Care Technician in Birmingham:
Pros: Since I started my job I have been looking forward to my next shift. The staff in the ED creates an environment to help me learn and ask questions. The hands on experience I have done have been more than what I expected. For once I love coming to working and telling people where I work and what I do.
Cons: You have to pay for parking then take a shuttle to a bus stop a block away from your building entrance
