What is it like working as a Patient Care Technician?

I’ve always loved working for APD. I have been there for almost 10 years now. I feel like they don’t appreciate my knowledge and experience.

Pros: I like the people I work close with, great crew
Cons: My PAY. I have been working extreamly hard for the past 9 years with this company thru the pandemic. Literally blood sweat and tears. All of a sudden they are giving these very green LNAs a 3 dollar an hour raise. There have been many years my family and I have gone without. So yes I’m upset.

Cons: The training is fast inconsistent. The expectations are higher than the offered training.

Cons: Overworked, underpaid and even though you get told you are appreciated, you are not.

Cons: All the centers feel like “mom and pop” shops. This is a bad thing, as The Davita Way is rarely implemented- just power hungry charge nurses with no oversight or handlers.
