August 2021
Member Service Representative in Price:
Pre pandemic it was always emphasized what a great “purple” culture they have, we heard countless stories about being like family and all of the amazing things they do for their employees. After the environment became fully remote it became apparent how completely untrue that is. Most of the benefits that were not “standard” were paused to be sure that HealthEquity would be successful in the fave of the shutdowns. In early January of 2021 they asked everyone to request over time each week, and when not enough people did, it became mandatory overtime. They were constantly stressing that it was important to use PTO to avoid burnout, but PTO was being denied. Metrics began to falter from the burnout and frustration, and their solution was to make the already difficult minimum even higher. Several employees struggled with mental health issues that were either new or significantly worse than they had been. Those who are on the phones were not able to attend the happy hours and all-hands meetings that we're intended to help make the remote environment feel more “normal”. Cries for help and change we're met with the message of “to avoid burn out change your perspective, focus on gratitude and positivity. For a company that is centered around “connecting health and wealth”, it is appalling how effortlessly they completely ignore the health needs, mental and physical, of their customer-facing employees.

I have a love/hate relationship with this place.
Member Service Representative in Cartersville:
Pros: My coworkers and direct management are all very supportive of each other; as for the members, it is great to watch the transformation some make through sheer determination-from coming in for the first time somewhat skeptical, maybe a little intimidated, to walking tall and sharing their knowledge and experience with other newcomers!
Cons: I am not paid enough; our franchise is very corporate, we are all just a number...
