Low stress works for me
Medical Transcriptionist:
Pros: Medical transcription is low stress for me while also be stimulating enough. I only have one client and he generates a steady volume of work, a predictability not all transcriptionists share. I have very flexible hours to accomplish my work. I save money on commuting because I work from home. I'm proud of the quality of and timeliness of my work and so is my client.
Cons: The pay is poor. I miss the social interaction that comes with working outside the home. It's can be a challenge to work without interruptions from a home office.

The "ups and downs" of working at home...discipine required!
Medical Transcriptionist:
Pros: The thing(s) I like about my job is that I am an important part of someone's medical journey. I feel like I accomplish something when I complete a "case" and pass the final y product to the professional doctor/nurse/social worker that have their part working with the patient and family to determine the next phase of treatment etc.
Being in the medical field can be a fast paced process that requires attention to detail and I strive to complete my responsibilities while always maintaining confidentiality and accuracy.
Cons: The thing I like least within an office environment is patients that are thankless and rude. I like to think I always and go that extra mile for all patients. Admittedly sometimes I have to set personal opinions aside and deal with the task at hand no matter how I feel or how the patient feels. We all have bad days but it's all in the way one deals with unpleasant situations. Sometimes doctors have bad days as well, and again, it's how the two of you (you and the doctor) deal with the days at hand. If possible humor can completely turn around a bad day!
