Fast Paced.
Mechanical Engineer:
Pros: I like that there is short amount of time compared to most corporations from the time I release a design to when is it fabricated and shipped to the customer. For the most part it is a very laid back culture.
Cons: It is extremely unorganized and the work I do is unappreciated at best. Management sees the engineering department not as value added to the company but as a necessary evil to keep producing custom designs.
August 2016
Know what you should know.
Mechanical Engineer:
Hone your design skills and understanding of what a realistic solution should look like. Familiarize yourself with the recognized standards in your field/industry early in your career. These will help you earn the respect and trust of your colleagues and management.
