Licensed Professional Counselor Reviews
What is it like working as a Licensed Professional Counselor?
February 2017
Rewarding.
Licensed Professional Counselor in San Antonio:
Pros: Helping people. Guiding people through difficult times.
Cons: Dealing with insurance companies.
July 2016
Psychopharmacology and Paperwork.
Licensed Professional Counselor:
I encourage all students pursuing a career in Mental Health Counseling to learn about psychopharmacology as it is so important in working with our clients. I also encourage them to work on their writing skills due to the plethora of paperwork we are forced to complete.
May 2016
Licensed Professional Counselor:
Pros: Working with children.
Cons: School politics.
November 2014
Rewarding.
Licensed Professional Counselor:
Pros: I love the opportunity to incorporate creativity and my artistic background in therapeutic ways. I enjoy my scenic drive to work and the people I work with. I most enjoy seeing changes in clients for the better.
Cons: It can be very overwhelming and even depressing at times depending on the populations you work with. It is critical to take good care of yourself to prevent burnout. Bureaucracy/ and billing mandates/paperwork often steal valuable time you could be using in therapeutic interventions with clients--that is what I hate the most.
November 2014
How much I have to pay for.
Licensed Professional Counselor:
Save your Money, find a good supervisor, don't go to expensive online school they're all the same, learn and stock to you ethics.
September 2014
Excellent.
Licensed Professional Counselor:
Pros: Self-employed, helping others.
Cons: Stressful.
