Kitchen Hand Reviews
What is it like working as a Kitchen Hand?
June 2015
Preparing all larder, food preparation, assisting chef,
Kitchen Hand:
These days it pays to do few courses to increase your knowledge such as certificate II in kitchen operations, that's a good course & you will be surprised what you learn, even after all my years in kitchens I learned a lot, also food safety course, very important to know , maybe a basic cooking course that can teach you knife skills & first aid course. When you start a new job & you are been shown what to do & how to do it, do not interrupt your teacher in order to let them know that you know what you are doing, that only makes you look bad and also remember you may know how to do something, you may have years of experience doing that thing but every work place has its own way of doing things, some places like it done they way, some will let you do it your own way.

Kitchen Hand:
Since my job is not only just being a kitchen hand but seems to be everything else around our establishment as well.
When I first came into the job I thought I would just be doing deliveries off to our receivers and then come back to do other function deliveries and help out where the kitchen hands need.
Turns out they hired me as just a kitchen hand and paid me as one for a while now and wont change my title.
