Human Resources Information Systems Analyst (HRIS):
Pros: I gain a sense of satisfaction for building complex reports that provide accurate data. I also enjoy troubleshooting problems with existing reports and working with individuals to provide the information that they are looking for. There is not a lot of management over what I do and the work load comes and goes depending on business cycles and times of the fiscal year.
Cons: Like most things in life, not many people notice when you are doing things right but the world will come crashing down if you do not provide somebody exactly what they thought they were asking for. Most of the issues I have with incorrect reports stem from the requester not knowing how to ask for what they want to see or they do not know what information reporting can provide.
