Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Analyst Reviews
What is it like working as a Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Analyst?
February 2021
Great learning environment. Many opportunities to improve skills.
Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Analyst in New York:
Pros: Freedom of deliverable creativity and hands off management. Very much enjoy my work
Cons: Pay is not at market value
December 2020
Great, economic opportunity.
Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Analyst in Houston:
Pros: There are always jobs available and the oil and gas industry is located here
Cons: The traffic and commute
December 2020
Long Commute, Low Pay.
Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Analyst in Huntsville:
Pros: The diversity in the city is cool. Its not the typical southern town. Living out of the city is affordable and doesn't feel very far away. We have all major delivery services, and a few that are unique to the south.
The Huntsville area is known for engineering and physical sciences and there are at least 3 college campuses in town. Lots of potential for personal growth and even the chance to find yourself in a career you never planned.
Cons: The traffic is really ridiculous for it not to be a megapolis. Not many of the defense support jobs are located downtown. So, youll be hitting side roads and sometimes working on the military installation (gate traffic/passes).
To get around this I work very early and get out before the schools get out for the afternoon.
August 2020
Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Analyst in Cayce:
Pros: It's very convenient to Downtown Columbia and I greatly enjoy working 5 minutes from my house. The Riverwalk is also a great perk and I am excited how Cayce is developing.
May 2020
Awesome place to work and love my job.
Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Analyst in Charlotte:
Pros: Working atmosphere. Management.
Cons: I am paid below others with the same title because I was an internal promotion.
April 2020
Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Analyst in Melbourne:
Pros: It's great to work in a bustling city, makes me feel a part of something bigger. Also, the coffee is amazing
Cons: The commute to work, and the business of the trains.
December 2019
Cozy coastal town.
Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Analyst in Pensacola:
Pros: geographic location is great
Cons: pretty backwoods when you dig deep, there are efforts to push forward into the 21st century but lots of old resistance as well.
