Financial Assistant Reviews

What is it like working as a Financial Assistant?

May 2016
Purchase Ledger is easy if you can sweet talk suppliers.
Financial Assistant:
Pros: I enjoy manipulating data - creating journals and moving money around our Accounting system. I also like creating reports and pulling data from various places. Reconciling statements can be fun too, so long as there aren't any aged queries that are horrendous to solve.
Cons: I don't like having to deal with suppliers. Talking to outside companies (on the phone or over email) is a hassle and I'd prefer not having to do it altogether. Sometimes you get a nice contact that you connect with, which can be a reprieve, but most of the time people chasing you for money aren't going to be overly nice.
