Executive Director Reviews
What is it like working as an Executive Director?
June 2017
Harder than you think.
Executive Director in Henderson:
This job involves more hours than you can imagine.
May 2017
Traffic/commute, cost of living, rural lifestyle.
Executive Director in Quesnel:
Pros: As mentioned in the Summary - traffic/commute, cost of living, rural lifestyle.
Cons: Limited options for lateral career transfers. Formal and Peer influenced education opportunities are narrowed to online options (which honestly are rarely worth the time even when they are open source) or travelling to larger centers. Creativity and commitment to researching one's own options has been the most effective in my experience.
May 2017
You can do it.
Executive Director in Columbia:
Pick a worthy mission and start chipping away at it. Rome wasn't conquered in a day.
May 2017
How difficult people are to manage.
Executive Director in Hamilton:
Keep an even and simple approach to challenges. All day is chaotic, enjoy the good days, appreciate people and always be prepared.
April 2017
Nice place to work, too far from home.
Executive Director in Franklin:
Pros: Lots of great restaurants close by. There is a walking trail right next to the office. Our building has a gym and parking is not an issue.
Cons: Franklin is on the south side of Nashville and traffic is a growing concern that doesn't seem to be getting addressed.
April 2017
Very small competative community.
Executive Director in Welland:
Pros: Everyone knows each other.
Cons: No room to dream big.
April 2017
Helping Each Parties Communicate Better.
Executive Director in Kuala Lumpur:
Pros: Communication with People.
Design Management.
Quality Control.
Flexible Hours.
Autonomy.
Building Better.
Networking Opportunities.
Events Opportunities.
Co-workers and Staff.
Cons: Nothing.
