Director of Sales and Marketing Reviews

What is it like working as a Director of Sales and Marketing?

April 2015
Leading without Authority.
Director of Sales and Marketing:
Pros: Exciting to work in both sales and marketing aspects of the business, but very hard to manage multiple and conflicting priorities, interface with shareholders and executive management, and manage a team all at the same time.
Cons: Very high stress, lots of projects that are off strategy coming at me continuously.
March 2015
Director of Sales and Marketing:
Have the right members on your new team. Recognize each member for where they can be. Begin that process as soon as you can.
November 2014
Easygoing digital professional with a 18 years of experience.
Director of Sales and Marketing:
Pros: I use my job: To close deals. To know new people. To engage the team. To learn about new technologies.
Cons: I don't want to use my job: To try to set new process in a monthly basis. To negotiate a "nonsense" share of the goal. To can't trust in team. To try to do my best and get stuck in lot of "dynamic" rules.
November 2014
Unexpected Competition Can Come Out Of Nowhere.
Director of Sales and Marketing:
Be creative. Watch out for unexpected competition. Lobby for marketing funds when launching a new technology/product and make sure that you spend those funds on the most cutting edged media as opposed to traditional media.
November 2014
Hispanic Chamber Of Commerce.
Director of Sales and Marketing:
Running a Hispanic Chamber of Commerce is what I believe is a "labor of love." Most of all the non-profit organizations depend on the assistance of volunteers and support from companies, as well as, other non-profit organization to collaborate and finance. I believe that in this case the Hispanic business market is still a lagging force needing leadership and direction. Unity, in my opinion is one of the greatest hurdles that Hispanic/ Latinos community faces in the United States. Patience and a desire to see other excel is what I believe we need to work together in order that our children and future generations will benefit for a collaborated effort to work together for a common purpose. Working with people of multi-cultures and God's blessing on your efforts is what I believe is needed to do this job well. Don't let money and position be the only reason when you work doing this job.
September 2014
Different Every Day!
Director of Sales and Marketing:
Pros: Delving into brand strategies. Guiding direction if the group - what, when and where for business developments and new projects. Working with strategic leaders in tourism industry. Mentoring senior managers in marketing and brand strategy and management.
Cons: Constantly dragged into nitty gritty of marcoms delivery. Insufficient time to analyse and look at longer term strategies. Lack of recognition.
August 2014
Putting My Talents To Use.
Director of Sales and Marketing:
Pros: I'm good at sales and am left alone to follow up with clients whatever way I see fit. I can make outside contacts and am exposed to wealthy men which is better than dealing with run of the mill population. The business is a fun one. Matchmaking business. I turned my flirting into a way I can actually make money.
Cons: Sit on my ass all day, long commute to/from, stressful, not enough money. Working with same few people day after day.
