Direct Support Professional Reviews
What is it like working as a Direct Support Professional?
October 2020
Totally Out of Ratio.
Direct Support Professional in Portsmouth:
Pros: I like the population I serve and the oportunities for over-time.
Cons: There are too many things to list that I do not like (e.g. pay, advancement, structure, lack of corporate integrity, lack of compassion, lack of employees, lazy coworkers, etc.).
October 2020
Not as good as it could be.
Direct Support Professional in Charlestown:
Pros: Country setting
Cons: Favoritism, low wages wrong type of personalities put into supervisor positions when they dont know how to deal with people.
September 2020
Hoover Flags in New London in 2020 and Trump as President. Who figured.
Direct Support Professional in New London:
Pros: The community is nice and safe. People for the most part are friendly. There is little way to improve your standing here though. There is little regulation of non profits and businesses here to keep them from abusing the weaknesses of customers and those forced into services. The few services providing cell, internet, water, gas, trash pickup have a monopology and the prices are too high and choices are to few. If you need a reliable lan connection and want to avoid paying out 1/4 of your monthly wage at $12 dollars per hour working full time you are out of luck. After 2 years a lan connection for broadband at a basic connection here will cost you $80+ in the next two years.
Cons: The expense and lack of affordable housing. Once you leave an employer and try to go to the same field with your experience it is likely going to be hard to move to another business. Employers will be bitter about changing alliances. When the only way is up around here the direction is never up and across. You will find you have to move to the suburbs of a larger city.
September 2020
Convenience.
Direct Support Professional in St. Paul:
Pros: Everything is easily accessible I don’t have to drive 20 minutes to the nearest grocery store or gas station
Cons: Stupid drivers can’t make use of their turn signals
August 2020
Dungarvin Direct Support Professional.
Direct Support Professional in Evansville:
Pros: I like the clients and the fact that I work third shift because when my cleaning is done, I can study and work on homework.
Cons: The lack of communication from the supervisors to the employees and the low pay rate.
August 2020
Bridges of Indiana.
Direct Support Professional in Monticello:
Pros: The clients are the best part of my job
Cons: Upper management could care less about employees. Pay is bad & no reviews or raises
July 2020
I enjoy working with the client & receiving refresher trainings.
Direct Support Professional in Bismarck:
Pros: I like working alone with the client I’m assigned to.
Cons: The pay should be better.
