Direct Support Professional Reviews
What is it like working as a Direct Support Professional?
March 2023
A fulfilling and rewarding place to work.
Direct Support Professional in Providence:
Pros: Relations, helping enrich lives, building bonds
Cons: Honestly, nothing worth complaining about, a fantastic opportunity
December 2022
Never a dull moment.
Direct Support Professional in Cleveland:
Pros: Watching clients reach goals and live the life they deserve
Cons: Watching people get sick
September 2022
Jfm is a great agency to work for. I wish they would pay me my worth for my experience and years in the field but was rehired at the baseline rate of pay a year ago with then, 18 years of pay, am still at the same rate of pay since rehired after 18.
Direct Support Professional in Lewiston:
Pros: The people I support and my work environment in the ho.e I workin
Cons: The cookie cutter pay scale isn't fair to those that have years of experience and actually go in and work. Unlike some hired off the street for the same rate of pay who sit on their phones all day and dint put any effort into actually working
July 2022
Stressful, feel like all my time is spent at work very little enjoyment outside of work.
Direct Support Professional in Rush City:
Pros: Down time
Cons: Stressful, non stop drama, excessive hours for little pay
May 2022
Okay job for short term.
Direct Support Professional in Dunn:
Pros: I have a lot of leisure time due to my placement in a certain house
Cons: the work can be stressful especially when I am the only staff working my shift
March 2022
Could be better.
Direct Support Professional in Shirley:
Pros: You grow a bond with the residents.
Cons: Depending on what house you are working on, most of the managers throw all their work on their employees and don’t do anything themselves. There is literally to no support from management. Managers let the actual word “manager” cloud their brains to believe that all they have to do is tell their staff what to do without doing work on their part or providing positivity and supports for their staff
January 2022
Rewarding But Also Challenging.
Direct Support Professional in Fairbanks:
Pros: Getting to serve a segment of the population that is looked down upon and often neglected.
Cons: The high cost of living and weather conditions during the winter.
