Dining Room Manager:
It's really all about people skills.
Keep your thoughts to yourself until you figure out the few people you can trust; It could be a year or more. Be prepared to be micromanaged and undermined, but keep your cool. Don't sacrifice yourself for the job; It will be seen as you can't get your job done, instead dedication. Be organized and make sure that other people see that you are. If your boss and peers don't actually see you working, it didn't happen. Don't complain that you're too busy; make it look easy. Connect with good people, be it the GM, the chauffeur or the janitor; You will need their help. Treat all with respect, praise them for anything done well, and lift them up. Befriend everyone with genuineness. Listen more, talk less.
